VTCT Level 4
The VTCT Level 4 Certificate in Laser and IPL Treatments: the qualification for working as a laser and IPL technician.
£1,400
Beauty and aesthetics practitioners with a Level 3 qualification who want to offer laser hair removal and skin rejuvenation with laser and intense pulsed light (IPL).
This course leads to the VTCT (ITEC) Level 4 Certificate in Laser and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Treatments, qualification number 500/9034/3. It is the only Level 4 qualification VTCT offers in laser and IPL. It is the recognised qualification for working as a laser and IPL technician. Insurers generally ask for a Level 4 qualification before they will cover you for laser and IPL treatments.
The course focuses on laser hair removal and photo rejuvenation of the skin. You learn to carry out a thorough consultation, plan a course of treatment for each client, use laser and light treatments for hair removal and skin rejuvenation and manage the health, safety and security of the salon. All units are mandatory.
You build your skills in a realistic working environment, so you do not need fee-paying clients to gather your evidence.
Licensing of laser and IPL treatments depends on where you work, so check your local authority's requirements before you practise.
In-person attendance and online self-study. This is a hybrid course. You attend taught practical sessions in person and complete the underpinning theory through self-study online. Both parts are required to achieve the qualification.
With this qualification you can work as an advanced beauty therapist offering laser and IPL treatments. Further study could include our Level 5 Certificate in Aesthetic Practice, the VTCT Level 4 Award in Physiology for Advanced Beauty Therapy, the VTCT Level 4 Diploma in Advanced Beauty Therapy and the VTCT Level 4 Diploma in Salon Management.
